The Dark Knight

…is preposterously good. Amazingly good. Stupidly good. I might be a bit late in talking about it, but I only just saw it. And it was so good. Amazing. Brilliant.

Words can’t describe it. It has possibly one of the best opening scenes of any film, and the acting is so so good. And people are going to talk about Heath Ledger’s performance in it for all eternity - but it is that good.

My only gripes are the common time skips, which could be confusing to some. But in most of the cases it skips over stuff you really don’t need to see, to get onto the good stuff. My only other problem is the rollercoaster style of events, which seem to go from excitement to drama in an instant. Not that i’m overly complaining though. It’s far too good for that.

The only other problems I can see come from it’s low rating (PG-13 in the US, 12A in the UK) which is a lower rating than Batman Begins. It’s still violent, but some scenes and shots are cut prematurely short because it’s lower rating. It sort of detracts from the graphic violence implied, and somewhat dampened the atmosphere of the film in my opinion. Here’s hoping for an uncut version which would also hopefully flow better.

There are so many plot lines, so many excellent characters, so much going on, that it’s hard to believe it’s one film. Just when you think it’s over, out comes another situation. I can’t really think of what else to say as I just got back… but I’m going to go see it again.
