CoD4 DLC
I’ve never bought anything over XBL before. Never. I didn’t buy the Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack (And don’t really plan to buy the Legendary pack) but the CoD4 maps called to me.
Maybe it was the remake of Carentan (Chinatown) that called me, being the hardcore CoD1and CoD2 player I am.
However, looking at the price I was apprehensive. 4 maps for 800 MSPoints (£6.80)? Compared to Halo 3’s 3 maps for 400 MSPoints (£3.40), it wasn’t exactly a… sweet deal. However I was immediately won over by the promise of DoubleXP on those maps and my vanity took precedence and I trumped up £8.40 for 1000MSP.
Sigh. So shallow, I am. With CoD4 the #1 XBL Game for god knows how long, Microsoft and Infinity Ward are probably making a killing out of this. Microsoft more so, because I had to buy 1000 points to buy one item and now have 200 points with nothing to buy. And I’ll be getting 500 points with my GTAIV preorder, so that leaves me with 700, and I can’t buy anything with that.
I’d buy another 500 and have 1200 and possibly buy Black on the Xbox Originals scheme, but I have no clue if that will work on my VGA setup. Sigh.
Anyway, back to the maps. I’m impressed. Chinatown is so familiar yet so strange at the same time, while the TV station feels the same way (Made from the Charlie Don’t Surf level in Singleplayer, but altered in a big way). I don’t think I’m a fan of Creek, though. It’s too up-and-down, and it’s quite cramped for a large map. No fun for sniping on, either. I haven’t tried Killhouse yet but that should be fun.

I run Black on my 360 through a VGA cable, so it should work for you!
